Lorraine DeVarennes, 85, of Dieppe and formerly of Grande-Digue, passed away on Sunday July 9, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Grande-Digue, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Hélène (Cormier) Bourgeois.

Lorraine was dedicated to her family. She handed down education, respect of others and integrity values to her children and grandchildren. As a teacher and an educator, she had a positive impact on many children's lives. She loved nature and traveling. Her love, her joy and her conversations will be missed.

She is survived by three daughters: Hélène Devarennes (Paul) of Shediac, Francine Boudreau (Daniel) of Grande-Digue, and Gisèle Devarennes (Jamie) of Memramcook; one son, Normand (Sandra) of Moncton; one sister, Justine Léger (Gérard) of Grande-Digue; two brothers: Pierre Bourgeois (Laudia) and Louis Bourgeois (Hélène) both of Grande-Digue; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, as well as many sister in-laws, brother in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Aldérice DeVarennes; two sisters: Anna Cormier and Pauline Bourgeois; two brothers: Fernand Bourgeois and Charles Bourgeois.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday July 14 at 1:30 pm. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm. Internment will be in the Grande-Digue cemetery.

In memory of Lorraine, a contribution to the CODAC NB (New Brunswick Council for Adult Literacy and Skills Development) or CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated.
