It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of
the beloved Charline Landry, wife of Denis Landry at her residence, on
Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the age of 56. She died surrounded by her
loved ones following a short battle with ALS disease otherwise known
as Lou Gehrig's disease. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of Eddy
and Yvonne (Robichaud) Gallant.
Charline was newly appointed as Director of Public
Security for the Regional City of Cap-Acadie. She was so looking
forward to taking on this new role in her
community.
Hiking in nature on the trails or on snowshoes with the
family was a great source of joy for Charline. The sport of pickleball
had also become a passion that she practiced several times a
week.
Charline had a special relationship with her daughter
Jasmine, whom she loved unconditionally. She also loved being in the
presence of her two little treasures, Olivier and Rosalie. She was
fulfilled and her face beamed when she was with
them.
Being a benevolent person, she always sought to lend a
hand to her neighbor without wanting anything in return. Boat trips
with friends enjoying the sun, the sea, long conversations without
worrying too much about the weather with a drink in hand, and a
well-stocked picnic basket are memories that will be with us
forever.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Denis, her
daughter, Jasmine Durepos (Pierre) of Grand-Barachois, one sister,
Pierrette Gallant (Gérald Richard) and one brother,
Léon Gallant (Irma LeBlanc) all of Grand-Barachois; two
grandchildren she adored: Olivier and Rosalie, her father-in-law,
sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law as well as several nieces and
nephews.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral
and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street Shediac on Sunday, June 25, from
2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 26, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
The funeral will be celebrated in St-Henri-de-Barachois Church on
Monday, June 26 at 2 p.m.
She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Lisa Landry
and her godfather, Rhéal LeBlanc as well as several other
aunts and uncles.
In memory of Charline, a contribution to the New
Brunswick ASL Society or the breakfasts at Father Edgar-T-LeBlanc
School in Grand-Barachois would be
appreciated.
The family also wishes to thank all those including the
Shediac Extra-Mural team who accompanied, with great compassion and
love, our beloved Charline in her
illness.
Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the
direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac
(532-3297).
