Omer LeBlanc, 65, of Shediac, passed away on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023, after a sudden illness.  Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Azor and Rose (Léger) LeBlanc.

He will be sadly missed by his three children: Luc (Lynn) of Calgary, Mathieu (Dominique) of Montreal and Natalie (Ben) of Shediac; his four grandchildren: Jasmine, Gabrielle, Breanna, and Cédric; his surviving brothers and sisters: Jean-Guy (Stella) of Shediac, Gilles (Claudette) of Grand-Barachois, Michel (Charlene) of Shediac, Frank (Roger) of Dieppe, Anne (Jean-Guy) of Dieppe, Nicole of Dieppe, Pierrette Langis (Danny) of Shediac, and Paulette (Tammy) of Shediac

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Charles (1992).  

Omer had a heart of gold and embodied the true meaning of generosity in every aspect of his life. Throughout his lifetime, his benevolence was reflected in countless acts of selflessness, often stepping forward to help those in need, asking nothing in return.  He was the driving force behind the project to renovate the Festival Arena in the late 1990's, while also giving time and resources to countless other community initiatives over the years. In 2018, he was inducted into the Shediac Wall of Fame in recognition of his numerous contributions to volunteering.  

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac from where a chapel service will be held on Saturday, June 24 at 2 pm. Visitation hours are Friday, June 23 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm, Saturday from 1 pm till 1:45 pm. The funeral will be live streamed on Omer’s obituary on our website at www.frenettefuneralhome.com

In memory of Omer, a donation to the Vestiaire St-Joseph Food Bank would be appreciated.  Or, as Omer would have done himself, just do something nice for someone else and ask for nothing in return.
