Sister Bernadette Gaudet (Marie-Charlotte), ndsc, passed away following a short illness on Tuesday May 2, 2023 at the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton. She was 93 years old and in the 68th year of her religious life. Born in Memramcook, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Alberta (LeBlanc) Gaudet.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by seven sisters: Irène, Imelda, Évangéline, Éliane, Hélène, Thérèse, and Marie; and six brothers: Aurèle, Dominique, Jude, Thomas, Omer, and Joseph.
Sister Bernadette will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance). Public and family visiting hours are Thursday May 4 from 2 pm to 8:30 pm. Solemn Vespers will be held on Thursday evening at 7 pm. Face covering is mandatory for visitors.
Family visiting hours will begin at 9 am Friday May 5 until the funeral mass, which will be celebrated at 10 am in the Maison-mère Chapel, for sisters and family members only. Face covering is mandatory for family members. The funeral mass will be streamed live and may be viewed on her obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com where condolences may also be sent. Interment will be in Memramcook. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (506-858-1900).
