Althéa Melanson, 77, of Saint-André-LeBlanc, passed away on Tuesday May 2, 2023 at the Hospice SENB Albert House following a lengthy illness. Born in Haute-Aboujagane, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Irène (Cormier) Boudreau.

Before her retirement, Althéa was employed with Paturel Seafood over 40 years.

She will be sadly missed by her two sons: Fabien of Saint-Marie-de-Kent and Daniel (Nadine) of Grande-Digue; five siblings: Mélas (Elva) of Haute-Aboujagane, Réginald (Marcella), Stella Belliveau (Paul), and Valerie all of Moncton, and  Roger of Shediac; one brother in-law, Norm Gautreau of Shediac River, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donat (2009); one sister, Marie Gautreau; one brother, Émerie.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Sunday May 7 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 9:30 am until time of departure (10:15 am). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R.C. Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Monday May 8 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in parish cemetery.

In memory of Althéa, a donation to the Hospice SENB (Albert House) would be appreciated.
