Yvonne Reicker, 86, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday April 26, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Paquetville, she was the daughter of the late Irenée and Dorina (Robichaud) Blanchard.

After completing her Registered Nursing (RN) Program she went on to work at several hospitals in Tracadie, Bathurst and Fredericton.  In 1975, she accepted the position of Nursing Instructor and taught the Registered Nursing Assistant (RNA) Program at NBCC in St. Andrews, NB.  In 1983, she was transferred to the Moncton NBCC campus to teach the RNA program.  She completed her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from the Université de Moncton, while still teaching at NBCC in 1995 and retired in 2000.  After her retirement, she was an active member/volunteer at Christ-Roi Church.  She also volunteered throughout the province by offering courses on "Death and Dying" to help families deal with the loss of their loved ones.  She was a kind, soft spoken person therefore always thinking of others before herself.

She is survived by her daughter, Doreen Sullivan (Rik) of Moncton; two sisters-in-law: Audrey Blanchard of Fredericton and Rita Blanchard of Dieppe; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers: Thiburce, Raymond, and Patrice.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the doctors, nurses, and support staff at the Moncton Hospital for their exceptional wonderful care provided to Yvonne.

By request of the family, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. A private graveside service will take place in Paquetville at a later date.

In memory of Yvonne, a contribution can be made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation (Family Practice Unit 5100 and/or Geriatrics Unit 5200) or to the Alzheimer Society of NB.
