Claudette Fougère,70, of Dieppe and formerly of Grande-Digue, passed away on Sunday, April 9th, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Richibucto, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Yvonne (Richard) Landry.

Claudette was full of life and had a special sparkle in her eyes.  She was a social butterfly and she made friends everywhere she went.  She loved to cook and entertain.  Her door was always open, and she truly enjoyed the company of her loved ones, especially when musical instruments were on hand so she could sing.

Her creative spirit permeated all aspects of her life. She loved to shine, and her uniqueness and individual sense of style was often expressed in all aspects of her life; her wardrobe, various forms of art she created, home decorating, and even in her choice of vehicles. She felt the most pride driving her Volkswagen convertible Beetle, with her big sun hat and flashy outfit.  She took pride in many things, including her work as a custodian for many years, until her retirement in 2017.

Claudette is survived by her three daughters: Renée, Joline, and Mireille; two grandchildren: Jean-Francois and Emelie; three great-grandchildren: Nixon, Penelope, and Amelia.  She is also survived by her brother, Donald (Léa) Landry; six sisters: Claudia (late Dave) Fitzgerald, Délima (Yvon) Savoie, Rita (Gerard) Daigle, Denise (Denis) Landry, Jeanine Lester, Irene (Guillaume) Doiron, and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Jean-Paul Fougère, two grandsons; Alexis & Samuel, and two brothers; Eddy and Eloi.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Unit 4A of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC for the exceptional care and compassion they provided her the last few months of her life.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Monday April 24 at 4 pm. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 pm until time of funeral. In memory of Claudette, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac.
