On April 5th, 2023, at Hospice SENB Albert House in Moncton, surrounded by his beloved family, Michel Alfred Legault, husband of the late Lucille (Belliveau) Legault, passed away peacefully at the age of 78. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late René and Aline (Racine) Legault.

His departure is survived by his two daughters: Sylvie of Fredericton and Annie (Charles Somers) of Quispamsis; his son, Marc of Beaumont; three grandchildren with whom he enjoyed chatting, playing games, and assembling Legos: Jacob, Eric, and Luc; one brother, John (Betsy) Legault; a sister, Louise (Bob) Coghlan; his companion, Michelle Marcil; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Before retiring, Michel was employed at the Université de Moncton, student services.

We will remember him for his sense of humor, his joie de vivre and his love of being around people. He left his mark by being involved in his community with various organizations at a regional, provincial, and national levels.

During his life, Michel met many doctors and health professionals who welcomed him with kindness and compassion. The family would like to thank the nephrology and dialysis team at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre (CHUDGLD), the Dr-Léon-Richard oncology team in Moncton and his family physician, Dr. Vincent Melanson.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to the extraordinary caregivers at Hospice SENB Albert House who cared for him in his last week of life. You have been a balm to our hearts, we will be forever grateful for your services.

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral mass and visitation at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will take place in his honor on Sunday April 30 from 2 to 4 pm with a toast and sharing of memories at 3 pm at the Club d’Âge d’Or Christ de Roi Inc., 305 Dominion Street, Moncton.
