Charline Vautour Bourque, 54, of Grand-Barachois and originally from Cap-Pelé, NB, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday April 7th, 2023, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC in Moncton. She is the daughter of Thérèse (Gaudet) Vautour of Cap-Pelé and the late Gérard Vautour.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jean-Guy Bourque; her daughter, Pascale of Ottawa, Ontario; her son, Jean-François of Sackville, NB; her brother, Rémi (Maria Elena Poñado) of Edmonton, Alberta; her maternal grandmother, Sara Vautour (late Donat) of Cap-Pelé; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her father, she was predeceased by her sister Lise, a lawyer who also passed away too young (Denys).

Charline was a beloved French Immersion teacher in Amherst, NS. She enriched the lives of many students throughout the years with her kindness, compassion for others, and incredible sense of humour. She cared so much for her students. Charline loved her vocation and her amazing colleagues and friends in the Cumberland County Region. She spent the end of her career at Cumberland North Academy in Brookdale, NS.

Charline lived in Chéticamp, NS, Amherst, NS, and Sackville, NB. Charline retired in Grand-Barachois, NB to be near her family and the sandy beaches she loved so much. It was always so magical to see Charline take her first dip of the season in the ocean. She loved to travel, read books, walk her grand-dog Emma, and was a true foodie.

Charline loved immensely, understood the importance of family, and brought so much joy and laughter to everyone who crossed her path.

The family wishes to say thanks to the Doctors and all staffs at the Léon Richard Oncology Department in Moncton.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297) on Thursday April 13 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm only. There will be no funeral service. In memory of Charline, a contribution to the Leon Richard Oncology department (CHU Dumont) would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac.
