Edwina Violette, 87, of Moncton and originally from Grand
Falls, passed away on Monday March 28, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital.
Born in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, she was the daughter of the late
Abel and Edna (Martin) Martin.
For the majority of her career, Edwina was a grade 2 teacher
at École Marie-Immaculée in Grand
Falls.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roger; three
children: Lise Bourgoin (Robert) of Grand Falls, Richard (Joanne) of
Fredericton, and Nicole (Luc Francoeur) of Dieppe; five grandchildren:
Karyne LeBlanc (Simon), Gabrielle Bourgoin, Stephanie Violette, Nadine
Violette, and Zoé Francoeur; two great-grandchildren: Eva
LeBlanc and Kaleb Bourgoin; one sister, Irma Parent of Gatineau, QC;
three brothers: Ludger Martin (late Bernadette) of Edmundston, Gaston
Martin (Louise Martin) of Montréal, QC, and Guy Martin
(Brigitte) of Saint-Léonard; as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters:
Rolande and Gisèle; and one brother,
Raymond.
A sincere thank you to the nursing staff at The Moncton
Hospital, especially Dr. Luc Francoeur, for their exceptional care
provided to Edwina.
The family will receive condolences at O’Regan
Funeral Home, 515 Evérard-Daigle Boulevard, Grand Falls
(506-473-3063) on Wednesday May 10 from 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral
mass will be celebrated at Assomption church, 355 Chapel Street, Grand
Falls on Thursday May 11 at 11 am. Interment will be in
Saint-Léonard. In memory of Edwina, instead of flowers, a
contribution to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would
be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of
