It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carole Léger-Bourque of Saint-Antoine, which occurred Tuesday, March 21st 2023, at The Moncton Hospital, at the age of 67, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Léo and the late Georgina (Allain) Léger.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1978, Carole worked as a registered nurse at the Villa du Repos in Moncton for over 35 years and, more recently, at the Foyer Saint-Antoine.
Carole was a devoted and loving wife, mother and sister and will be remembered as an optimist who loved life very much. She was very generous and social and enjoyed meeting people. Her radiant smile and genuine interest in others made her very approachable.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Louis Bourque, a son, Justin Bourque of Saint-Antoine, one sister, Joanne Léger-Daigle (Guy) of Fredericton, and two nephews, Jean-Sébastien and Alexandre Daigle.
The family would like to thank the health care workers of The Moncton Hospital Oncology Unit 4200 for their loving care and compassion.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, on Tuesday March 28 from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday March 29 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, and at the Saint-Antoine l’Ermite R.C. Church slumber room, 24 avenue de l’Église, Saint-Antoine, Thursday March 30 from 1 to 2:45 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Antoine l’Ermite R.C. Church, Saint-Antoine, on Thursday March 30 at 3 pm.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
