Emery LeBlanc, 83, of Shediac and formerly of Portage,
passed away on Saturday March 18, 2023, at the Villa Providence. Born
in Portage, he was the son of the late Cajetan and Doris (Brine)
LeBlanc.
Emery enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and camping.
He was always a very hard worker. In 1982, him and his family built
W.E. Acres Crabmeal Ltd., where they all worked together until his
retirement. Emery was a member and past president of Legion Branch
#91, Cap-Pelé.
He is survived by loving
wife, of almost 65 years, Winnifred (Veenstra) LeBlanc; three
children: James (Francine) and Ola (Denise) both of Portage, and
Cathy LeBlanc (Rhéal) of
Cap-Pelé; four brothers: Aubrey (Joan) Hampton, NB, Gordon
(Lorna) of Moncton, Wayne (Mary) of Happy Valley, Labrador, and Alvin
(Lynda) of Edmonton, AB; four sisters in-law: Anna Hoekstra (Allen) of
Chatam ON, Janet Dewal (late Charlie) of Cobden, ON, Mattie Zandbergen
(Fred) of Morrisborg, ON, and Marla Veenstra (late Jim) of Dresden,
ON; 9 grandchildren: Eddy, Kim, Amanda, Pam, Jason, Jamie, Terry,
Joshua, and Zackary; 9 great-grandchildren: Kayden, Draven, Mia,
Berlin, Sahara, Liam, Selena, Kayla, and Memphis; as well as
many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was
predeceased by grandson, Jeffrey; one sister in-law, Jean Van Veen
(late Peter).
Special thanks to all the staff at the Villa Providence
in Shediac for the wonderful care they provided during his
stay.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral
and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé
(506-577-3297) on Thursday March 23 from 9 am until time of funeral
(10h15). The funeral mass will be celebrated at the
Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R. C. Church on
Thursday March 23 at 10h30 am. Interment will be in the
Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila cemetery,
Cap-Pelé.

Emery, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society, Villa Providence or to
a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
