Dr. Jean-Bernard (J-B) LeBlanc, 72, of Pointe-du-Chêne, NB, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre (UHC), surrounded by his loving family, as a result of an accident involving a motor vehicle. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late René and late Anita (Léger) LeBlanc.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 42 years, Christine; his beloved children: Jérémie (Nathalie Belliveau) of Moncton and Danika (Luc Belliveau) of Dieppe; grandchildren: Janie and Callie LeBlanc as well as Isaac, Emmy and Chloé Belliveau; his siblings: Charles (Lucie) of Laprairie, Qué., Louise (Réjean Hall) of Moncton, Janice (Michel Gilbert) of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Qué., Monique of Doha, Qatar, and Daniel (Chantal Jolicoeur) of Boucherville, Qué.; his sisters-in-law: Carole DeVries (late John) of Sarnia, Ont. and Anna LeBlanc (late Jim) of Orléans, Ont.; one uncle and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Graduating in medicine from the Université de Sherbrooke, J-B started practicing at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC in 1979. During the course of his career, he delivered hundreds of babies working in the obstetric clinic and held a large family medicine practice until his retirement in 2011. He cared deeply for all of his patients and was known as an attentive and compassionate doctor.

J-B was a dedicated family man. Even when he worked long hours in the ER and obstetric clinic, in the early years of his career, he rarely missed any of his children’s special occasions or sporting activities. He prioritized his family and loved his children unconditionally, a love that proudly extended to his cherished grandchildren, who lovingly addressed him as "Pépére".

J-B had a passion for gardening and loved reading and cooking. He appreciated works of art, paintings in particular. He was an avid skier and cyclist. Get togethers with family and friends brought him great joy.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the oncology and dialysis units at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC for treating Jean-Bernard with great compassion, kindness and respect for the past several years.

Au revoir J-B.!

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday February 22 at 11:30 am.
