Sister Lorraine Cormier (Élise-Marie), ndsc,
passed away following a short illness on Tuesday December 13, 2022 at
the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de
Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton. She was 94 years old
and in the 76th year of her religious life.
Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Hector and
Élise (Breau) Cormier.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by several
nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by six sisters:
Dorice, Marie, Hélène, Sr Lydia ndsc,
Zélia, and Sr Rose-Aimée ndsc; and eight
brothers: Éric, Émile, Edmond,
Aurèle, Father Noël, Father Clarence, Laurie and
infant Yvon.
The funeral mass by invitation only for Sister Lorraine will
be celebrated in the chapel of the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de
Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton on
Friday December 16 at 10 am. There will be no visiting hours.
Face covering is mandatory for the private
funeral. The funeral mass will be streamed live and may
be viewed on her obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com
where condolences may also be sent. Interment will be in Memramcook.
