Napoléon "Nap" Rioux, 95, of Moncton,
passed away on Wednesday November 30, 2022 at the Landry Pavilion of
Faubourg du Mascaret in Moncton. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of
the late Napoléon and Rebecca (Gauvin)
Rioux.
Prior to his retirement, Napoleon was a self-employed mason.
He was a man with a big heart and a good sense of humor. Nap worked
for several years in his community and his parish. He was much
loved.
He is survived by five children: Lynn and Renée
(Robert LeBlanc) of Moncton, Gilles (Cynthia Cole) of
Kasshabog Lake, ON, Denis (Denise Roy) of
Dieppe, Raymond (Lisa Millican) of New Maryland; 13 grandchildren:
Rémi, Anie, Élise, Mitchell, Nicolas,
Éric, Josée, Dominic, Joël, Isabo,
Justin, Lynae, and Aiden; two great-grandchildren: Hendrix and Clara;
one sister, Thérèse Parker (late Roland) of
Bathurst; one brother, Roland (Connie) of Fredericton; as well as
several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Zita
(Doucet); five sisters: Yvonne, Pauline, Agnès, Elzire and
Annette; and four brothers: Jean, Aurèle, Paul, and
Cléo.
A private funeral service will be celebrated at a later date.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory
of Napoléon, a contribution to the Nazareth House or the
Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in
the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre,
Moncton (858-1900).
