Alderic Melanson, 87, of Shediac passed away with his eldest son Richard by his side on Sunday October 16, 2022 at 2:39 pm at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital UHC. Born in Sainte Marie de Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Cloris Melanson and Marie-Rose (Dallaire) Melanson.
Alderic was an entrepreneur in the Auto Body Repair domain and in later years a Real Estate agent. A love for sports, hockey, and baseball along with Auto Racing were on top of his list. Above all he loved people!
He is survived by his four children: Richard Melanson of Pointe Sapin, Diane Melanson of Scoudouc, Bobby Melanson of Shediac Cape and Denise Melanson of Dieppe; seven grandchildren: Natalie Philips, Luc Boudreau, Jacques Boudreau, Stephane Cormier, Megan Melanson, Calix Leger and Jassim Leger; six great-granddaughters; a brother, Vincent Melanson (Bernice); a sister, Fernande Duval (Chester), as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by the mother of his four children Agnes LeBlanc (2021) and his six siblings Huberte, Roger, Laurie, Alonzo, Girène and Aline.
A funeral Mass for Alderic and his late wife Agnes, will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2:00pm. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s society or CHU Dumont foundation.
