Eustache Haché, 90, of Moncton and formerly of Lamèque NB, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 20, 2022 at the Albert House. He was the son of the late Stanislas and Léocadie (Chiasson) Haché of Lamèque.
A civil engineer by profession, he devoted most of his active years to the Université de Moncton as Chief of Buildings and Grounds.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Démerise (Blanchard); his children: Diane (Shaun) of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Jocelyne (Normand) of Moncton and Denis (Sheena) of Pincher Creek, Alberta. His daughter Paulette predeceased him and we rejoice knowing that his soul will now be able to join hers.
His grandchildren: Jérémie, Natasha, Samuel, Lynne, Évangéline and Félix and his great-grandchildren: Marie-Catherine, Démerise, and Olivier will have fond memories of their Baba who had great pleasure seeing them during their visits to Moncton. The youngest, Josie Mae, will not remember her great-grandfather, but he will have had the tender pleasure of meeting her and holding her in his arms a few months after her birth.
He is also survived by his younger brother, Henri-Claude (Georgette); his sisters: Évangeline (Laurent) and Josette; two sisters-in-law: Aurore and Léona; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his daughter, he was predeceased by his sisters: Donalda and Georgéline; and his brothers: Antonio, Alonie and Joseph-Pierre.
A special thank you to the staff at the Hospice Southeast NB (Albert House) for the exceptional care provided to Eustache.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to Hospice Southeast NB (Albert House) would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
