René LeBlanc, 89, formerly of Harper’s
Lane, Moncton passed away on Wednesday October 19, 2022 at the Villa
du Repos in Moncton. Raised in Fox Creek, he was the son of the late
Fred and Christina (LeBlanc) LeBlanc.
Prior to his retirement, René worked for 32 years
at L’Évangéline and two years at Le
Matin newspapers. He was a member of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Golden
Age Club. A great supporter of the Montréal Canadiens,
René also liked to play pool and cards, but the time he
spent with his family was his most precious moments.
René is survived by five children:
Gisèle Williston (John) of Moncton, Michel (Lisa) of
Pictou, NS, Monique Richard (Raymond) of Dieppe, Léonie
LeBlanc (Paul Bourque) of Grand-Barachois and Serge (Susan
Léger) of Dieppe; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl LeBlanc of
Saint-Antoine; six grandchildren: Mario, Marc, Julie, Chanda, Mathieu
and Justin; eight great-grandchildren: Aiden, Lucas, Brayden, Jacob,
Chloe, London, Noah, and Kaprie; one brother, Joseph LeBlanc (Aldea)
of Fort Fairfield, Maine; as well as many nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Loretta (2021); two sons:
Marcel and Jean-Claude; one sister, Eva; four brothers: Jacques, Paul,
Bernard, and Armand.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Villa du Repos
for the excellent care provided to René over the past few
years.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Monday October 24 at 11 am.
Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and Monday from 10 am until
time of funeral service. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium. In
memory of René, a contribution to the N.B. Heart and Stroke
Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
