Emile Collette, 91, formerly of Acadieville, passed away on Monday October 17, 2022 at the Foyer Assomption in Rogersville. Born in Coal Branch, he was the son of the late Actua and Marie (Belliveau) Collette.

Emile retired as a sergeant in the Canadian Armed Forces and was a proud veteran of the Korean War and also served in Congo.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Viola (Doiron); four children: Kathy Randall (late Paul), Ronnie (Kim), Jim (Jacqueline), and Lori Doiron (Maurice); seven grandchildren: Chad, Krystle, Deidra, James, Ashley, Julie, Sarah, and Jennifer; many great-grandchildren; four sisters: Sr Adela Collette fma, Anita Cormier (late Prémélite), Catherine LeBlanc (Édouard), and Ida Bourque; three brothers: Gérald (late Lina), Alfred (Anita), and Ulysse (May); one sister-in-law, Jeannette Collette; two brothers-in-law: Willie Robichaud and Donald LeBlanc; as well as many nieces, and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Steve; one granddaughter, Tiffany; two sisters: Alvina and Alma; and one brother, Eric.

The family will receive condolences at the Immaculée-Conception Church slumber room, 4049 Route 480, Acadieville, where the funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday October 21 at 11:30 am. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and Friday from 10:30 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Emile, a contribution to the Foyer Assomption (palliative care room) would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
