It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mafalda Roy, daughter of Alexis Roy and Amanda Lacasse, at 102 years old, on Sunday October 16, 2022 at Monarch Hall in Riverview.

Prior to her retirement, Mafalda was a telegraph at CN.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Marie-Claire Laterre, widow of J. Raymond Roy; her nephew and her nieces: Jacqueline (Bernd), Dominique (David), Stéphanie (Annie-Claude) and Alexis Roy; her great-niece, Danièle, and great-great-niece: Cédric and Nicolas. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Yolande; and two brothers: Joseph Raymond and Eudes Mance (Obéline).

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff of Monarch Hall for their exceptional care provided to Mafalda.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Wednesday October 26 at 10:30 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Mafalda, a contribution to People for Animal Wellbeing (PAW) would be appreciated.
