It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Marie Arsenault, wife of the late Alcide Arsenault, at the age of 90 years, on Saturday September 10, 2022 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Formerly of Dieppe, she was a resident at Faubourg du Mascaret. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Anibert and Exelda (Caissie) LeBlanc.

Doris was a stay-at-home mom and a member of the Dieppe CWL. Whether it was being a waitress at an Acadian dinner or volunteering to accompany adults who needed assistance to learn to read and write, she was always ready to provide support and share her knowledge with others. She loved her relatives, her friends, skating, reading, playing cards and was a hockey fanatic, especially the Montreal Canadiens.

She is survived by five daughters: Marg Hébert (Carl) of Québec, QC, Louise Mercier (Richard) of Kingston, ON, Muriel LeBlanc (Dave), Monique Arsenault and Diane Buotte (Bernard), all of Moncton; two sons: Maurice (Gilberte) of Moncton and Gérard (Lucille) of Toronto, ,ON; seven grandchildren: Michelle, Patrick, Kristine, Marc, Kevin, Brian and Jérémie; seven great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Laurence, Ben, Sam, Ruby, Claire and Emma; one sister, Florence Richard (late Jean); three sisters-in-law: Edna LeBlanc (late Henri), Sr Rita Arsenault fma, and Blanche LeBlanc (late Léo); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by six sisters: Arthémise Babineau (late Tilmon), Thérèse LeBlanc (late Gérard), Edith Duplessis (late Edouard), Anita Mitton (late Irvin), Anne-Marie Mercier (late Normand) and infant Rose-Marie; as well as two brothers: Henri and Léo.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff at the Cormier Pavilion of Faubourg du Mascaret for their services provided to Doris.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday September 17 at 11 pm. Visiting hours are Friday from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 10 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Doris, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Words of comfort and donations can be made at www.frenettefuneralhome.com.
