It is with great sadness that
we announce the passing of Carmine Di Saverio, 88, born in Elce di
Cortino Italy. He was the son the of late Saverio and Giuliana Di
Giuseppe.
Carmine travelled to Canada on
April 1963. His port of entry was Pier 21 in Halifax on the Olympia,
then travelled to Moncton to marry his fiancé Ada Di Simone
that May.
Without the knowledge of the
English language, Carmine and Ada worked hard to raise their family.
They didn’t have a huge home or fancy cars, but their home
was full of love and Italian was the only language spoken, and that
was non-negotiable.
Carmine worked as a truck
driver for MacDonald’s Paving where he retired 1998. He took
great pride in his truck; no smoking or eating was ever
allowed.
Carmine’s heart
belonged to Travazzano Italy, where he spent many years travelling
with Ada and their family. He gladly spent his days tending to his
olive and fruit trees and relaxing on his
balcony.
Camine is survived by his
loving wife of 59 years Ada, children, Saverio (Darlene), Lorella
(Roderick) and Daniela (Michel). Grandchildren, Dionigi, Angela,
Ethan, Marco and Emma; brother: Antonio and sister-in-law Ida, both of
Italy.
Besides his parents, Carmine
is predeceased by his siblings, Luigi, Rita, Ginetta and Ennio and
grandson Caleb.
Carmine was a humble man and
in keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitations. Funeral will
be held on Wednesday August 3, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Bernard's
Church, 43 Botsford St, Moncton. Funeral mass will be recorded and
uploaded to his obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com by the end of
