It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that Barry
MacMillan announces the sudden passing of Joseph "Joe" A.
Boychuck, his partner and best friend of 40 years.
Joseph was the son of the late John and Margaret (Boutilier)
Boychuck of Reserve Mines, NS.
He is mourned also by his sisters: Peggy Morgan (Art) of
Brampton ON, Marie Hennessey (Greg) of Glace Bay NS, Carole Athansiou
(George) of Beaverbank NS, Theresa Ellsworth of Dominion NS, Eileen
Boychuck of Calgary AB, a brother, Gerald Boychuck of Ontario, and his
special friend (like a sister), Linda Ekdahl. He was greatly loved by
many brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, and
nephews.
Besides his mother and father, he was predeceased by his
siblings: Betty, Germaine, John, David, and June.
For a number of years, Joe was Sifu at his own studio, Wing
Chun Academy in Moncton, NB where he cherished teaching his Kung Fu
students.
He had a huge love for dogs, and he supported our local
shelters in many ways. Joe always spoke of his greatest achievement of
being able to rescue three of his own dogs from GMSPCA which he
ensured lived long, healthy, and happy lives.
Joe was a very gentle soul. He had a wonderful way of making
anyone feel very important. His kind heart touched all who were graced
to have known him.
