Claudette Metcalfe, 82, of
Haute-Aboujagane, passed away surrounded by her loving family on
Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC. Born in
Haute-Aboujagane, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Delphine
(Boudreau) Bourque.
Before having a family of
her own, Claudette worked for Shediac Lobster Shop in the
company’s early years and also helped out the Maillet family
in their home as a homemaker. She was a good cook and enjoyed
crocheting, knitting, and spending time with family and
friends.
She is survived
by her husband of 54 years Philip Metcalfe; two sons: Dennis (Lisa)
and Gary (Elisa) both of Haute-Aboujagane; one brother, Joyeux Bourque
(Mary) of Massachusetts; two grandchildren: Emilie and Abigail; as
well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents,
Claudette was predeceased by her daughter, Darleen and two brothers:
Alyre and Roger.
The family will receive
condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396, Main Street
(532-3297), Shediac on Saturday July 16 from 9:30 am until time of
funeral. The funeral service will be celebrated at 11 am in the
funeral centre’s chapel. Her final resting place will be in
the Sacré-Coeur R.C. parish cemetery in Haute-Aboujagane.
