It is with great sadness that we announce that our dear
little mother, Elvina Savoie, passed away peacefully, surrounded by
her three daughters, on Tuesday May 31, 2022 at the Albert House in
Moncton. Originally from Rogersville, almost 92 years old, she was the
first born of the 15 children of Gérard and Edna (Martin)
Arseneault.
Parishioner of Christ-Roi Church, she humbly contributed
where there was a need, either as a volunteer or with craft projects.
She was a member of the Ladies Knights. Elvina enjoyed going to the
camp and spending time with her large family, equally enjoyed reading
her daily newspapers, playing cards with Danielle and her sisters, and
working in her garden.
She is survived by three daughters who loved her beyond
measure: Monique McNutt (Dan) of Ontario, Guyanne Inouye (Brian) of
British Columbia, Danielle Savoie of Moncton, and one granddaughter,
Céline (Aaron) of British Columbia; eight sisters and six
brothers: Ida (late Tom), Irène, Dorice (late Tom),
Rhéal, Rita (late Augustin), Émile (Loretta),
Yvonne (Gérard), Gérald (Denise), Pierrette,
Yolande (France), and Jeanne (Marise); one sister-in-law, Anne-Marie
Arsenault (late Lionel); as well as many nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Guy (2013); and three
brothers: Lionel, Roméo (Lucienne), and
Edmond.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Monday June 6 at 11 am. Visiting
hours are Monday from 9:30 am until time of funeral service. Interment
will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of
Elvina, a contribution to Hospice SENB (Albert House) or to the CHU
Dumont would be appreciated.
