Ferne Angeline LeBlanc, 88, of Charlottetown, PE, passed away on Sunday May 8, 2022 at The Mount Nursing Home. Born in Apple River, NS, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Emily (Wilson) Elderkin.

Prior to her retirement, she was a hairdresser and spent countless hours volunteering.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Eric LeBlanc; one son, Gregory Bogle of Albert Co.; one daughter, Diane Mortimer (David) of Brampton, ON; two grandchildren: Christopher (Samantha) and Jessica (Marcus); three great-grandchildren: Norah, Jack and Isla; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Robert Bogle; 14 siblings: Clifford Elderkin, Zenith Elliott, Wyman Berdin, Verdon Elderkin, Carol Palmer, Sherman Elderkin, Dorothy Copp, Douglas Elderkin, Sydney Elderkin, June Cormier, Claira MacNutt, Mildred Brewster, Edward Elderkin and Billy Elderkin.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday May 13 at 4 pm. Visiting hours are Friday from 2 pm until time of funeral. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Ferne, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
