Antoinette Landry, 89, formerly of Barachois, passed away peacefully on Monday May 9, 2022, at the Faubourg du Mascaret. Born in Barachois, she was the daughter of the late Ulric and Marie (Caissie) Léger.

She started working as a seamstress at Creaghan’s in Moncton, before becoming a co-owner of Landry Grocery with her husband. She also was a cook at Père-Edgar-T.-LeBlanc school in Barachois.

She is survived and will be sadly missed by her two sons: Pierre (Louise) of Barachois and Paul of Moncton; five sisters: Sr. Huberte Léger F.J., Jeanne Gaudet (Ubald), Lucille LeBlanc (Fernand), Murielle Doll (George) and Kathy Furlong (Leon); one brother, Normand (Thérèse); one daughter in-law: Linda Landry (Yves); five grandchildren: Danielle (Mike), Jean-Marc (Nicolina), Katie (Sylvio), Jaden (Megan) and Denis; two great-granddaughters: Mya and Hanna, as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gérald (1985); one son, Louis (1998); eight brothers: Ulysse, Bernard, Arthur, John, Rhéo, Fernand, Omer and Michel. 

The family wishes to thank Faubourg du Mascaret along with members of Pavillon Landry staff for the wonderful care provided. 

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre,396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Sunday May 15 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Henri de Barachois Roman Catholic Church, 1356 Route 133, Grand-Barachois on Monday May 16 at 10:30 am. Face-covering is recommended at the funeral centre and at the church. Interment will be in St-Henri de Barachois parish cemetery.
