Jacqueline Simone Breau, 94, formerly of Dieppe, passed away on Friday May 6 2022 at the Pavillon Richard of Faubourg du Mascaret in Moncton. Born in Edmundston, she was the daughter of the late Michel and Irène (Cyr) St-Germain.

Our Mom was trained as a Registered Nurse at Hôpital Notre-Dame, Montréal in 1948. She worked at the Edmundston Hôtel-Dieu until she returned to Montréal to receive her Public Health Nurse designation from l’Université de Montréal in 1959. She married (Pierre) Lucien Breau in 1960 and had three children - Pierre, Jean and Lise. While raising her family, through different locations in the Atlantic Provinces, Mom worked as a public health nurse in both Newfoundland and New Brunswick and as a head floor nurse at Moncton’s Villa du Repos. After her husband Lucien died in 1988, Mom intermittently worked for a few years as a private duty nurse for in-home senior’s care, until she formally retired.

Both at home and working, Jacqueline always put her family first. She was devoted to her children and her seven grandchildren and never stopped proudly talking about them, nor praying for them. When she went back to her home town of Edmundston, she was affectionately called "Cob", a nickname she got as a small child because she was always hung in an embrace around the neck of her father, like a bear "cub".

She was devoted to God and his Church. She prayed daily in thanksgiving for His Grace and for the blessings she received through her family. She rests in peace with Jesus.

She is survived by three children: Pierre (Lynn) of Edmonton, AB, Jean (Liliya) of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Lise Breau-Emond (Jean) of Ottawa, ON; seven grandchildren: Geneviève, Michel, Alexus, Marc, Nika (Irène), Philippe, and Joel.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Pierre Lucien (1988); and one sister, Jeanne "Nan" Carrier.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday from 11:30 am until time of departure (13h10). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, 1014 Amirault Street, Dieppe on Monday May 9 at 1:30 pm. Face covering is recommended at the funeral centre and the church. The funeral mass will be videotaped, and the video will be available on her obituary on our Website at the end of the day. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. Donations in her memory can be made to the Saint-Anselme parish (www.mariereinedelacadie.ca)
