Amédée LeBlanc, 92, of Moncton, passed away on Thursday May 5, 2022 at the Faubourg du Mascaret. Born in Saint-Joseph, he was the son of the late André and Vézina (Légère) LeBlanc.

He left in fullness surrounded by deep love.

He had an admirable career as a librarian, head of acquisitions at the Champlain Library at the Université de Moncton.

Amédée was a man guided by faith. Everyone saw in him a charming man, grateful and immensely respectful of his neighbour. His contagious laughter will continue to resonate in our hearts forever.

Amédée is now reunited with his great love, Gilberte Couturier LeBlanc, who passed away in February 2015.

He is survived by his in-laws: Laurette Ouellette (late Jean-Marie), Jeannine Albert (Joseph), Guildo Couturier (Pierrette), all of Edmundston, and Rosaire Couturier (Claudette) of Ville Mont-Royal, QC. The departure of Amédée also leaves a great void with many nephews, nieces and sincere friends.

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his siblings: Sr. Anna, Gérard, Edouard-Alfred, and Andréa, as well as infants: Léonard, Alphonse and Alphonse, as well as his sister-in-law, Anne-Marie Couturier, and two brothers-in-law: Théo Couturier (Lucille) and Roméo Couturier (Géraldine).

The family would like to personally thank Carmen Lacombe for her loving devotion over many, many years.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday from 2 pm until time of departure (3:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi Roman Catholic Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton at 4 pm. Face covering is recommended at the funeral centre and the church. The funeral mass will be videotaped, and the video will be available on his obituary on our Website at the end of the day. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Amédée, a contribution can be made to Crossroads for Women.
