Annie Cormier, age 45, of Moncton, passed away on Friday April 1, 2022 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of Gervais and Gisèle (Richard) Cormier of Dieppe.

After developing a Neuromuscular Degenerative illness in 1990 at age 13, she faced every challenge with great courage and was an inspiration for everyone who came to know her.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Leona LeBlanc, who was her exceptional caregiver for the past 22 years.  We also give thanks to every caregiver who worked with Annie. A special mention to Rema who was a very dedicated caregiver and a friend for Annie.  Others to thank are Rachel Massé for being such a special friend to Annie, to Serge LeBlanc, aunt Sarah, uncle Ray and uncle Sylvio for their continued weekly visits.  Also a very special thank you to her physician Dr. Nicole St-Pierre and to the Extra Mural Hospital for their continued care.

Besides her parents, she is survived by one sister, Monique Cormier (Denis Poirier) of Penobsquis; two maternal uncles: Dr. Norbert Richard (Sharon) of Moncton and Michel Richard (Sheila) of Halifax, NS; two paternal aunts: Sarah Boudreau (Raymond) and Phyllis Davis (Andy), both of Moncton; two paternal uncles: Sylvio Cormier (Francine) and Roger Cormier, both of Moncton; as well as many cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her brother, Denis Cormier (2018); her maternal grandparents, Alphée and Alberta (Thibodeau) Richard; her paternal grandparents, Hervé and Julia Cormier.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Tuesday June 7 from 2 to 4 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, 1014 Amirault Street, Dieppe on Wednesday June 8 at 11 am. Face covering is recommended at the funeral centre and the church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Annie, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (Tree of Hope) would be appreciated.
