Anne Blanchard, 82, of Shediac, passed away on Friday
April 1, 2022 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC with her family by her
side. Born in PEI, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Rita
(Inman) Gallant.
Anne enjoyed spending time at her cottage and her
trailer. She enjoyed early morning walks to the beach to collect beach
glass and seashells. She loved to rent cottages on PEI with family and
friends, where they would play music, play card games, and share
laughter and memories. Anne was known for her many accessories,
whether it be a hat, scarf, sunglasses, or jewelry. However, she will
be greatly remembered most by her long black
coat.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Normand
Blanchard of Shediac; her siblings: Allan (Shirley) of Ontario,
Clarence (Diane Mullins) and Shirley Mischiek, both of Shediac; her
nieces and nephews: Norma, Connie, Tracy, Ricky, Doug, Paul, Chris,
Marty and Gary; her great-nieces and nephews: Natasha, Ashley,
Jessica, Amanda K, Amanda W, Jami, Jeffrey, Adam, Mathew, Cory, Kyle,
Jake, Ricky, Dustin, Noah and Matthew M; her great-great nieces and
nephews: Sophia, Emily, Madison, Amelia, Mylah-Jane, Savana, Glenda,
Annabelle, Ivy, Riley, Brody, Nathan, Liam, Kyle and Dillon and her
beloved Maggie as well as many cousins, friends and extended family
members.
Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by her
sister, Anne Shirley, and her niece, Glenda
Kenny.
By request, there will be no visitation. The funeral
mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph R. C. Church, 415 Main Street,
Shediac on Thursday April 7, at 2pm. A reception to
follow at the parish centre. The funeral mass will be
videotaped, and the video will be available on her obituary on our
website at the end of the day. In memory of Anne, a contribution to the CHU Dumont
Foundation (oncology) would be
appreciated.
