With heavy hearts, the family of Leatrice (Lee) Patricia
LeBlanc, announce her peaceful passing, on March 4, 2022, at Briarlea
Special Care Home, Moncton.
Leatrice was born in Moncton, the third child of the late
Camille and Amanda (Leger) LeBlanc.
Although the family tragically lost her father in a train
crash when Leatrice was only four years of age, Leatrice often spoke
of the fortitude of her mother, in obtaining work to support and care
for her family. Leatrice, with Paul, then paid it forward by caring
for own her mother, her mother-in-law and other family members for
many years.
Leatrice married Paul G. LeBlanc, "my Paul", in
1954. They remained dance partners, dedicated parents and a formidable
and adventurous team until his passing in 2016.
She is survived by her favourite kid brother, Lawrence
(Pitou) and his wife, Elsie, and their family, Ontario; her sons:
Maurice, Montreal, Denis and his wife Donna, Moncton and her adored
grandchildren, Andre and his partner Danie, Fredericton and Anna Lee
and her partner Tim, Fredericton. In 2014, Leatrice’s life
became even more full with the arrival of her great grandson, sweet
Kaleb, whose visits and escapades kept her laughing for
days.
Leatrice is also survived by her special goddaughter and
niece, Karen (Al) Evans, Halifax, and many other nieces and nephews,
who will all treasure the fun memories with their feisty "Ma
tante".
Leatrice was blessed by many friendships spanning 75+ years.
Her family was lucky enough to be included in these bonds and continue
to be amazed at her ability to maintain these many relationships with
frequent phone calls, letters and visits.
Besides her parents and her husband, Leatrice was predeceased
by her older brother, Paul and his late wife, Stella, one of her many
partners in adventures; her beloved older sister, Camilla (late
Donald) Charlton; her son Pierre (2020), who she called daily until
his passing, and numerous in-laws, cousins and close friends, who
always received regular cards and letters from Leatrice on all
life’s occasions.
Her family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the
Briarlea "off Gorge". She immediately felt at home upon
arriving, and received excellent care until her final
days.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, April 22 at 3 pm.
Visiting hours are Friday from 2 pm until the time of funeral service.
Face covering is mandatory. Interment
will be at Shediac Road Cemetery in Moncton, at a later
date.
In memory of Leatrice, a contribution to the Friends of the
Moncton Hospital Foundation, the CHU Dumont Foundation or a charity of
one’s choice would be appreciated.
