Grace Goguen Gaudet, 83, of Moncton, passed away on Thursday
February 24, 2022 at the Pavillon Landry of Faubourg du Mascaret. Born
in Notre-Dame, she was the daughter of the late Léonide and
Henriette "Hattie" (Richard) Goguen.
Prior to her retirement, Grace was a ticket agent at Air
Canada and was coordinator for Volunteer Services with the Oncology
Department at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital.
Nana was a woman you could always depend on for laughter, for
comfort, for love and care, for those long warm hugs, for an extra
pair of fuzzy socks, a cup of hot tea, and a flashlight in every
room.
Her many friends and family will remember her God-given gift
for entertaining and whipping up lavish meals from
scratch…just because. She loved to shop for bargains,
especially her designer clothes. She marveled at foreign cultures and
explored the world with the love of her life, Grampy, as well as her
"Air Canada girlfriends." Gardening was second nature for
her as her greenest of thumbs nurtured dozens of extravagant
gardens.
Forever our gem, she will be remembered for the warmth that
she left behind, for all of the lives that she has touched and for the
laughs that she has shared with all of us.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Georges; one son,
Denis (Gabrielle O’Brien) of Moncton; her precious
granddaughter, Chloë; two brothers: Jean-Paul (Anna) of
Moncton, and Marcel of Shediac; as well as her nieces and
nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation
and no funeral service. In memory of Grace, a contribution to the
Alzheimer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice
would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional
care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton
(858-1900).
