It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing
of Dr Jean Daigle, optometrist, on Thursday February 17, 2022 at The
Moncton Hospital after a short and trying illness at the age of 79
years old. Born on September 3, 1942 in
Saint-Léonard-Parent N.B., he was the son of the late
Blanche (Albert) Daigle and Jim Daigle.
Jean is survived by his dearest family, his wife
Marie-Andrée (Ferron), his son Jean-Francois (Carole) and
his daughter Christine, all from Dieppe N.B. He leaves behind his
sisters and brothers: Janine (late Albert Godbout) of Grand Falls
N.B., Richard (Josée) of Gatineau QC, Bernadette of Fort
Mill USA, Bernard of Dieppe N.B., Father Normand, s.m. of Gatineau QC,
Jacqueline Clavette (late Jean-Guy Thibeault) of
Saint-Léonard-Parent N.B. as well as his nieces, nephews
and cousins. Jean will be dearly missed by his sister-in-law Margo
Ferron and brother-in-law Pierre (Nicole) Ferron from
St-Bruno-de-Montarville QC, his many friends and
colleagues.
Besides his parents, Jean was predeceased by his twin
brother, Jimmy (Victoire) of Saint-Léonard-Parent
N.B.
An optometrist for 54 years in Shediac N.B., Jean was very
devoted to his work which he did with great care, respect and
generosity. Athletic since childhood, he was passionate about playing
golf and enjoyed sharing those moments with his friends. Jean exuded
positive energy both through his sense of humour and deep care of
others. He was a man with strong values and deeply loyal to all those
around him. We will greatly miss his presence in our lives and will
carry him in our hearts forever.
We wish to warmly thank Dr. Dhany Charest, Dr Sarah Ironside,
the staff at The Moncton Hospital, the staff of N.B. extra-mural
service, as well as all our friends who have kindly supported us
during this trying time.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday March
