It is with sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Landry, at the age of 92, on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Villa Providence in Shediac. Born in Dupuis Corner, NB, he was the son of the late Patrick and Léonie (Gaudet) Landry.
Prior to his retirement, Ernest was a fisherman and carpenter by trade. He had a passion for his gardening. He loved the visits from his children and grandchildren every Sunday afternoon.
He is survived by his four children: Rhéal (Francine) of Cap-Pelé, Joanne Landry of Shediac, Linda Doiron (Hector) of Cap-Pelé and Marcella Boudreau (Réjean) of Shediac: daughter-in-law Aurela of Grande-Digue: his 11 grandchildren: Mario, Jeannot, Janelle, Mélanie, Christine, Isabelle, Karine, Serge, Chantal, Anik and Rémi; his 10 great-grandchildren: Madiane, Zavier, Damien, Jaden, Jake, Ellie, Jacob, Magalie, Beckam and Kealen as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Thérèse; one son, Gilles and his brothers and sisters: Azor (late Béatrice), Jude (late Marguerite), Amanda Cormier (late Alphonse), Marie-Louise Bourque (late Johnny), Thérèse Richard (late Léo), Madeleine Leger (late Aquilla), Camille (late Thérèse) and Ambroise.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funearl and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Monday, February 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 1 from 9:15 a.m. until time of departure at 10:15 a.m. The funeral will be held at Ste-Thérese d'Avila Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, on Tuesday, March 1 at 10:30 a.m.
The funeral will be recorded, and the video will be available on Ernest's obituary on our website www.frenettefuneralhome.com at the end of the day.
Due to new regulations, a face covering is mandatory to enter the funeral home or church.
