Gabrielle "Gaby" DeGrâce, 91 years and 4 months, passed away on February 19, 2022 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC in Moncton. She was the daughter of the late Léontine LeBlanc and Léon Turcotte. After leaving St-Arthur in her teens, Gabrielle spent most of her life in Campbellton and moved to Dieppe in 1999.

She is survived by six children: Monique (Daniel Poirier) of Dundee, Pierre (Lucie Brisson) of Mirabel, Diane (Sylvain Leclerc), Marc (Nicole LeBlanc), Michel (Lucie LeBlanc), all of Dieppe, and Jean; six grandchildren: Danie, Luc, Shawn, Pascal, Vicky and Wendy; five great-grandchildren: Ty, Brooklyn, Jacob, Rémi and Raphaël; one sister, Bernadette Boucher; two sisters-in-law: Anita DeGrâce and Carmelle Couture; one brother-in-law, Charles DeGrâce; as well as her nieces and nephews.

Gabrielle was a determined and anti-meds woman, but was fully vaccinated against Covid. She had a lot of energy. Her hobbies were walking, bowling, swimming, volunteering at the hospital and at the Capitol, the Casino, baking, reading, and word search. She was self-taught and enjoyed reading very much. She was in control until the end and passed away in her sleep as she had wished.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of the hospital for the good care provided. We would also like to thank all the nursing staff at the Auberge du Soleil residence where our mother was living for the past 10 months.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A celebration of life will take place at a later date at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
