On Saturday February 5,
2022, at Villa Providence in Shediac, Ronald "Ronnie"
Melanson passed away peacefully at the age of 86. Born in
Saint-Paul-de-Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Alphée
and Bella (LeBlanc) Melanson.
He made a life as a
business owner in New Jersey, USA and then again as owner of
Ron’s Shell Gas Station on Shediac Road in Moncton, NB,
until his retirement.
Ronald is survived by one
brother, Jean-Marie (Anna) of Shediac Bridge; one sister, Lorraine
Maillet of Moncton. Ronnie and his wife, of over 50 years, have many
nieces and nephews for whom Ronald was endearingly known as
"Uncle Ronnie" or "M’oncle
Ronald".
Besides his parents, Ronald
was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Roy) Melanson; two brothers:
Aldéric (as an infant) and Léonide; one sister,
Annette (Melanson) Cormier.
The funeral mass will be
celebrated at the Saint-Paul R. C. Church, 6476 route 515,
Saint-Paul-de-Kent, on Tuesday May 17, 2022, at 11 pm. The family
requests that everyone wear a mask. The interment will be at
Saint-Paul-de-Kent cemetery in Saint-Paul. In lieu of cards and
flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of
Canada.
