Doris Roy, formerly of Moncton, passed away peacefully on
Monday January 31, 2022 at the Villa du Repos in Moncton, she had just
celebrated her 97th birthday. Born in Stafford, CT, she was the
daughter of the late Honoré and Yvonne (Bastarache)
Surette.
She was a homemaker who loved to cook and take care of her
family. Her interests were playing bingo and cards. As her
grandchildren would say "she loved to win".
A kind and caring person who never spoke badly of
anyone.
She will be sadly missed by her four children: Paul (Barbara
Cormier), Rene (Fern), Janice Gaudet (Mike), and Gerald (Linda), all
of Moncton; two grandchildren: Jennifer (Tristan Dobson) and Jessica
(Jeff Emmerson); four great-grandchildren: Rachel, Ethan, Mackenzie,
and Hailey; two sisters: Donalda Léger, and Stella Gallant
both of Moncton; two brothers: Léo and Harvey, both living
in the United States as well as several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest (1981); one
sister, Aurore; three brothers: Ovila, Désiré,
and Edmond.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the
staff of Villa du Repos for their compassion and special
care.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Monday February 7 at 2 pm.
Visiting hours are Monday from 1 pm until time of funeral.
Face covering is mandatory, proof of vaccination and
government issued identification card are required to enter the
funeral centre, and social distancing is in effect. The
funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to her

Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In
memory of Doris, a contribution to Heart and Stroke Foundation would
be appreciated.
