Robert Richard, 76, of Moncton, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness with his wife by his side, on Friday January 28, 2022 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Arcade and Emilie (Boudreau) Richard.

Robert worked for Via Rail until his retirement.

Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Andrea (Hébert); his sister, Géraldine Lavigne of Saint John; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters: Rosella and Corinne; three brothers: Edward, Joe, and Roger; his sister-in-law, Jeannette Richard; as well as his best friend, Louis Bourque.

Heartfelt thanks to all the angels, Dr. Andrea Wall and Dr. Bernice Milne, Nadine Boudreau, Father Broderick, all the nurses, the people in the cafeteria, the cleaning people who made it a safe environment, as well as the medics who came to the house, all my friends and neighbours who supported me through this hard time. You are forever in my heart.

In accordance to his wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium, Moncton. Memorial donations may be made to the food bank or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
