Florine Thibodeau, 90, of the Villa Providence in Shediac and formerly of Grand-Barachois, passed away on Tuesday January 25, 2022, at her residence. Born in Scoudouc, she was the daughter of the late Blair and Alma (Melanson) Melanson.
Florine worked for several years at Lockwood Windows window factory and loved working in her garden and in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed dancing, playing darts and bowling.
She is survived by six loving children: Bernice Gaudet (Louis-Joseph), Bertrand (Lise Belliveau), Rhéal (Jacqueline), Régis (Elva), Diane Léger, and Lise Thibodeau (Normand LeBlanc), all of Grand-Barachois; eleven grandchildren: Paula, Terry, Luc, Josée, Natasha, Jérémy, Mireille, Mario, Jacques, Marc and Karine; ten great-grandchildren: Justin, Janie, Samuel, Sylvie, Camille, Charlie, Max, Loane, Zoey and Lucy; a sister-in-law, Bernadette (Belliveau) Melanson of Shediac; and an adopted brother, Joe Bourque (Stella) of Moncton; as well as one niece and two nephews.
Florine was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Alcide Thibodeau; her daughter, Roseline Cormier; her sister, Dorice Melanson; as well as her brother, Yvon Melanson.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Thursday May 26 from 9 am until time of departure (10:40 am). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Henri de Barachois R.C. Church, 133 route 1356, Grand-Barachois on Thursday May 26 at 11 am. The family respectfully requests that everyone wear a face covering during visiting hours and at church.
