It is with heavy hearts that the family of Suzanne Marie Anne
Edith Landry announces her passing after a battle with cancer. She
left us on January 19th, 2022 at the age of 56, in comfort and peace
at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton,
New Brunswick.
Born on September 22, 1965 in Moncton, Suzanne was the only
daughter of the late Laurie Landry of Moncton and Geneviève
White of Montreal.
She will be sadly missed by her three brothers: Vincent
Landry of Memramcook, Jacques Landry (Monique) of Quispamsis, and
Pascal Landry (Molly) and their two children, Samuel and Sophie, of
Fredericton.
She also leaves to mourn her beloved stepmother Josette
Gaudet-Landry, her stepbrothers Daran (Ruth) and Jason Ultican, her
stepsisters Melissa and Paula (Jason) Ultican, as well as many aunts,
uncles, and cousins, and her dear friends Brigitta and Serge Ouellette
and their children Natasha, Jérémie and
Danika.
Besides her father, she was preceded by her brother
François.
Suzanne graduated from l’Université de
Moncton with a Bachelor in Computer Science and ended her career
working for the Federal Government. In between, she dabbled
in contract work, returning to school and opening her own
company. She was not afraid of change or venturing out and
trying new things.
She was adventurous and loved to experience new
places. Her love of travel landed her on all
continents. Her favorite activity was to hike and climb
mountains and if these were covered in ice and snow ...even
better! Ascending Mont Blanc in France was her dream come
true and she cherished her back-country excursions with her friends in
British Columbia. Throughout her travels, stops were always
planned to soak in architecture and beautiful landscapes and as an
avid photographer would capture angles and shots through the lens
always bringing in interesting viewpoint.
Suzanne’s interests were varied, from French
cuisine and pastries to home renovations and building furniture,
Suzanne never missed the opportunity to spend several hours sanding a
piece of wood or perfect a chocolate raspberry torte. A
lifetime student, she was always reading and learning something new.
Most times going in deep to fully understand a
topic.
We will miss her infectious laughter and optimism, as well as
her passion for technology, earth conservation efforts, and her
curiosity on how things worked.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Saturday
from 9:30 am until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be
celebrated at Christ-Roi R.C. Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on
Saturday February 5 at 11 am. Face covering is
mandatory, proof of vaccination and government issued identification
card are required to enter the funeral centre and the church, and
social distancing is in effect. Interment will be at
Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Suzanne, a
contribution to Canadian Cancer Society would be
appreciated.
