Gilles Cormier, 56, of Cap-Pelé, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday January 16, 2022. Born in Moncton, he was the son of Ulysse and Annette (Léger) Cormier of Cap-Pelé.
He held the rank of captain in the Cap-Pelé Fire Department.
Besides his parents, he leaves to mourn his wife, Debbie, née Allain; one brother, Marc (Lynn) of Saint-Antoine; in-laws, Tim and Marie-Paule Allain of Bouctouche; a brother in-law, Ricky (Tanya) of Saint John; a sister in-law, Dorine Allain of Dieppe; nephew and nieces: Danika, Sophie, Zachary and Renée.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Friday February 11 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R.C. Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, on Saturday February 12 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium, Cap-Pelé.
Due to the new regulations, face covering is mandatory, and proof of vaccination and government issued identification card are required to enter the church or the funeral centre. There is a limit of 50% in effect in both the funeral centre and at the church.
In memory of Gilles, a contribution to the Tree of Hope or Pépère Boîte à lunch (Donat Robichaud School) would be appreciated.
