Gérard Jude LeBlanc, 88, Pavillon Richard at Faubourg du Mascaret, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday December 28, 2021 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Saint-Antoine, he was the son of the late Irenée and Régina (Breau) LeBlanc.

Gérard was employed by the Université de Moncton until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Léona (Cormier); two children: Michel (Lynn) of Shediac, and Lynne Coyle (Terry) of Dieppe; five sisters: Alice Léger (late Vital) of Moncton, Imelda Jean (Jacques) of Boucherville, QC, Irène Nowlan (Jim) of Moncton, Édmée Arsenault (late Désiré) of St-Antoine, Jeannine LeBlanc (Ulysse) of Moncton ; two brothers-in-law: Léon-Guy Léger of St-Antoine, and Adélin Paradis of Montréal; as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was predeceased by five sisters: Lina Robichaud (Ernest), Juliette Léger (Alban), Édith Léger, Lucie Melanson, and Florence Paradis; two brothers: Eric (Léona), and Yvon LeBlanc (Odila).

Due to the pandemic, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The private funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame- de-la-Paix R.C. Church in Moncton on Monday, January 3. Interment will be in St-Antoine parish cemetery. Face covering is mandatory, proof of vaccination and government issued identification card are required to enter the church, and social distancing is in effect. In memory of Gérard, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or to the CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated. Gérard was a kind, jovial, and a hardworking man. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
