Léo-Paul Cormier, 83, of Lutes Mountain and formerly of Moncton, passed away on Sunday November 28, 2021 at the Dr. George-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Cormier’s Cove, he was the son of the late Alyre and Laura (LeBlanc) Cormier.

Léo-Paul was a sales representative for Air Liquide Canada, Hub City Oxygen Ltd. and Hub City Auto Paints & Supplies Ltd. An avid sports fan, he loved watching hockey and baseball as well as spending time with his family. Léo-Paul was a former member of Pine Needles Golf Club and enjoyed traveling and many summers at Ocean Surf Campground. He was a former member of les Chanteurs du Mascaret and the parish choir at Christ-Roi church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Imelda (Boudreau); two daughters: Charlotte Bellefleur (Jean-Marc) of Dieppe, and Christine Thériault (Conrad) of Lutes Mountain; nine siblings: Berthilde Mazerolle (late Emilien) of Moncton, Normand (Josée Babin) of Cormier’s Cove, Clémence Gallant (Roger) of Dieppe, Dorice Cormier of Moncton, Roger (Dorise) of Dieppe, Aline Nowlan (Thomas) of Moncton, Joanne Lister of Brockville, Ontario, Roland of Grande-Digue and Donald of Moncton; four granddaughters: Danielle Boulay (Marcus), Isabelle Boulay (Frédéric), Mélanie Thériault and Mireille Thériault; two step-grandchildren: Julie Bellefleur and Jacques Bellefleur (Stéphanie); as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Mario, and one sister, Rosa Hébert.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Center, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday December 2 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday December 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. Face covering is mandatory, and proof of vaccination and government issued identification card are required to enter the funeral centre. In memory of Léo-Paul, a contribution to the Southeast Alzheimer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
