It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Paul Raymond Melanson, 78, of Moncton, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday November 21, 2021 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Gerard and Evangeline (LeBlanc) Melanson.

Prior to his retirement, Paul was employed at CN as a work equipment supervisor as well as a diesel mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Duplacey); his step-daughter, Rachelle Donovan (Leigh) of Quispamsis; three grandchildren: Mary, Adrianna, and Ellie; one brother, Roger of Oshawa, ON; one sister-in-law, Carole Phifer of Winchester, ON; as well as his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Lucille (Eric); and one brother, Frank.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s R.C. Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton on Thursday November 25 at 11 am. Face covering is mandatory, and proof of vaccination and government issued identification card are required to enter the funeral centre. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Paul, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation (oncology) would be greatly appreciated.
