It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lorraine (Després) McSwain, 89, of Moncton, on Friday November 12, 2021, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Cocagne, she was the daughter of the late Flavien and Eveline (Breau) Després.

She worked at Air Canada for over 25 years before her retirement. Lorraine was known for her volunteering services at the Moncton Karing Kitchen and the St. Vincent of Paul.

Lorraine will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 55 years, Beverly "Bev"; one sister, Germaine Richard (late Jean-Paul) of Cocagne; two nieces: Nicole Richard (Paul Desrosiers) of Montréal, QC, and Monique Richard of Shediac.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Faubourg du Mascaret for their attentive care and support provided to Lorraine during her stay.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday November 15 at 2 pm. Face covering is mandatory, and proof of vaccination and government issued identification card are required to enter the funeral centre. Interment will be at Saint-Pierre cemetery in Cocagne. In memory of Lorraine, a contribution can be made to the Cocagne parish cemetery or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
