Surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October
28th, 2021, our dear mother, Éveline
Richard, passed away at home after a short illness. Born in
Bas-Cap-Pelé, she was the daughter of the late Philippe and
Anna (Cormier) Vautour.
In her younger days, she worked in Pictou, then Cormier et
LeBlanc, Paturel Seafoods and Westmorland Fisheries. She was a member
of the Club d’Âge d’Or and the Ladies
Auxiliary Branch # 71. Éveline made the best molasses
candy.
She will be sadly missed by her 10 children: Janita (Georges)
Jacob of Cap-Pelé, Angela (Roger) Ouellet of
Haute-Aboujagane, Laurie (feu Rita) Richard of Shédiac,
Elsée (Guy) Boudreau of Cap-Pelé,
Rosée (Paul) Babineau of Grande-Digue, Aline (feu Michel
Larante) Richard of L'Île-Perrot, QC, Corinne (Marcel)
Bastarache of Dieppe, Terry (Darlene) Richard of
Saint-André-LeBlanc; Marie Ann (Dan) Clarke of New West,
BC, and Thérèse (Claude) Frenette of
Pointe-du-Chêne; her 20 grandchildren and 27 great
grandchildren and her adopted sister, Jacqueline (feu Léo)
Goguen of Arizona.
Besides her parents, Éveline was predeceased by
her loving spouse, Valmond Richard (2009) and her siblings: Clovis,
Elise, Ulric, Adeline, Léandre, Alberta, Léoda,
Osithe, Olivier, René, Marie, Délia,
Andréa and Claudia; a grandson, Marc Jacob (1998) and a
daughter-in-law, Rita Richard (October 22nd,
2021).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 2642, Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297),
on Sunday, October 31st, 2021, from 7 pm to 9
pm and Monday, November 1st, from 10am to 10:45
am. The funeral will be celebrated at
Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila, 2648 Acadie Road,
Cap-Pelé on Monday, November 1st at
11am.
Due to the new regulations, face covering is
mandatory, and proof of vaccination and government issued
identification card are required to enter the church and the funeral
centre.
In memory of Éveline, a contribution to the
Vestiaire St-Joseph Food Bank or to the Cap-Pelé Library
would be appreciated.
