Edmond Barrieau, 85, of Cocagne, passed away peacefully on Friday October 22, 2021 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Laketon, he was the son of the late Urbain and Rosalie (Vautour) Barrieau.

He is survived by his children, Paul-Emile (Janice) of Cocagne, Linda Bernard (Maurice) of Memramcook, Dianna Hébert (Paul) of Notre-Dame and Robert (Mélanie Robichaud) of Moncton; one brother, Antoine (Suzanne) of West Collette; one sister, Emma Guimond (late Edgar) of Saint-Louis; one brother-in-law, Marcel Richard of Noinville; three grandchildren: Robert, Martin and Isabelle; four great-grandchildren: Emmanuel, Ellyana, Avery and Lincoln; as well as his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Henriette (Richard) Barrieau (2010); an infant son, Joseph; an infant sister, Ida; one sister, Suzanne Richard; one brother, Sylvain.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday October 27 at 10:30 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 9:30 am until time of funeral. Due to the new regulations, face covering is mandatory, and proof of vaccination and government issued identification card are required to enter the funeral centre. The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to his obituary on our Website. Interment will be at Saint-Pierre-de-Cocagne cemetery, Cocagne. In memory of Edmond, a contribution to The Moncton Hospital Foundation (palliative care) or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
