Rita Richard, 63, of Shediac and formerly of Cap-Pelé, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday October 22, 2021. Born in Rogersville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Céline (Arsenault) Després before she was adopted by the late Alban and Florida (Després) Cormier.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at Manoir de la Butte in Cap-Pelé and was the former owner of Bel Air Take-Out. Rita was a very resourceful woman.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 45 years, Laurie; two children: Tammy Deveault (Philippe) of Shediac and Wayne (Anne) of Haute-Aboujagane; her biological brothers and sisters: Marie and Aline both of Ontario, Joseph of Shediac, Irène of Moncton, Linda of Shediac and Louis of Rogersville; her adoptive brothers and sisters: Roger of Barachois, Bernice of Cap-Pelé, Yvette of Portage, Emery of Cap-Pelé, Aubrey of PEI and Louisa of Petit-Cap; six grandchildren: Joshua, Justin, Jessica, Jolene, Zachary and Maxime, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her biological parents and adoptive parents, she was predeceased by a biological brother, Fréderic and adoptive brother, Léo-Paul.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642, Chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé (577-3297) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday October 27 at 2 pm. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 7 to 9pm and Wednesday from 1 pm until time of funeral. Due to the new regulations, face covering is mandatory, and proof of vaccination and government issued identification card are required to enter the funeral centre. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium, Cap-Pelé.
