Phyllis Melanson, 94, of the Castel des flots bleus, Cap-Pelé, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at her residence. Born in Botsford Portage, she was the daughter of the late Hazen and Cora (White) Brine. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her son, Bernard Melanson (Pierrette) of Shemogue; three grandchildren: Stéphanie Melanson of Fredericton, Natalie Melanson-Breau (Jérémie) of Dieppe and Jérémie Melanson (Katie) of Halifax NS; three great-grandchildren: James, Tessa, and Max; four sisters-in-law: Edna Brien from Shemogue, Élise Brine from Shediac, Claudette Brine from Pictou NS and Cécile Brine from Bedford NS.

She was predeceased by her husband, Valmont (1994) and siblings: Ruby Burke, Pearl LeBlanc, Doris LeBlanc, Gertrude Condon, Lester Brien, Roy Brine, Floyd Brine and Ralph Brine.

According to her wishes, there will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

In memory of Phyllis, a contribution to the Fondation CHU Dumont Foundation (Oncology) or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Cap-Pelé (577-3297).
